This is where I'll post some photos and thoughts.
February 6, 1919 – October 24, 2005 My Grandmother was one of the most loving women I have ever known. When we went to visit her growing up, which was very often because we lived 2-doors down, she couldn’t help but feed us. Even when her memory was failing she was always eager to serve you something or ask what you needed.
Rosa Parks passed on the same day as Grandmom. Well I imagined them up at those pearly gates holding hands and waiting in anticipation, no one being sent to the back of the line because as we know we are all equal in God’s eyes. My Grandmother and my family have always been great role models and accepting and loving to all people.
Grandmom had a great love for friends and family. My Grandmother was petite, but her love was never small. I will never know how she made 3 men as large as Bobby, Ray, and Fred, and how she put up with their antics, but I know it had something to do with the great love for all that she carried with her.
This love was especially shown when Grandmom was there for her mother, Ada Eutsler, as Ada-Mom’s health was failing, and when she took care of her husband, Bob Miller, when his health was failing. But one of the most evident and recent acts of Grandmom’s love was the faith she had in her children as her own health deteriorated. I saw this especially in the love that was passed to my mother, Anita Dorr, as she served as Grandmom’s caretaker for the last years of her life.
I see strength and love in all of our family and know that our cornerstone and why we have prospered is the support that we give to each other. I love you Grandmom. Say hi to Granddad for me and tell him we love him and miss him, just as we’ll miss you.
